Arabinosylcytosine (aC, araC)

A compound of arabinose and cytosine, analogous to ribosylcytosine (cytidine), which inhibits the biosynthesis of DNA; used as a chemotherapeutic agent because of its antiviral and tumor-growth-inhibiting properties.
