[TA] dense sheet of connective tissue in the superior gluteal region extending between the iliac crest and the superolateral border of the gluteus maximus, overlying and providing superficial proximal attachment (origin) for the gluteus medius (muscle). SYN: aponeurosis glutea [TA].
