Sereny test

(for invasiveness of bacteria) the organism is inoculated into the eye of a guinea pig; invasiveness is determined by the organism's ability to produce conjunctivitis. The test is used particularly for determining the invasiveness of strains of Escherichia coli and Listeria monocytogenes.
